Completion Summary of the Historic Greenhouse Project – November 2025 by Tim Parkinson
This project, which I launched in May 2017 is now complete thanks to the
considerable help Rachel Holland and Paddy Cooney provided to myself.
Having completed the all important glazing of the structure we have:-

  1. Painted the ironwork of the peripheral and the central plant stands dark
green in line with the original colour.
  2. Added sections of corrugated iron sheets to the peripheral plant stands and
levelled these with some of the gravel from the ground under the plant stands.
  3. Paddy has imported six large barrels to the south end of the greenhouse and
linked them to be filled with roof water from the gutters.
  4. Paddy has also built a large growing box in the central plant stands.
In conclusion I would like to place on record the other people who have helped
me over the years and to pay tribute to John Wyatt whose enthusiasm and skill
were central to the project being feasible in the first place. Other people who
have contributed significantly over the years are:
    Angela Brice
    Charles Claxton
    Rachel Holland
    Matthew Pemberton
    Hazel Moy
    Lissy Porter
